News…

Firstly, and I promise I won’t do this often, an ADVERTISEMENT. My partner-in-crime Martin Cook, with whom I give duet recitals and run Shrewsbury Choral, has asked me to pass on to students that he knows of someone who is trying to sell a very fine Kawai upright piano. The asking price is £1500. If you want more details, let me know and I’ll find out more from Martin.

Secondly - THIS…

Shrewsbury Choral are performing Cherubini’s Requiem, the work Beethoven had performed at his funeral. If it is good enough for Beethoven, it’s good enough for mere mortals like us. Of particular interest to piano students must be the return visit of Yuxuan Zhao to perform Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto Number 1. Yuxuan is a student at the RNCM in Manchester and is simply awesome. Last year he played Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Piano Concerto here and earned a standing ovation.

If you would like to attend, paper tickets are available on the door at the Abbey but can also be purchased as e-tickets by clicking on the button below. Please do make every effort to support live music making in our community. U’18s get in for only £5!!!

Thanks for reading this,
